I’ve been trying to learn Japanese for a while now and as superficial as it sounds, I just wanted to read manga and watch anime without subtitles that’s why I tried learning the language. 

I started learning on my own through YoiTV and YouTube then proceeded to enroll myself in a more advanced and formal class. Last week, I also tried another class but this time, it’s a reading class. I can finally read manga! I’m still not 101% great though but I’m loving the progress.

It took me a year to read and understand Japanese. So my advice is to simply not rush yourself to learn a new language! Try to find free online classes as well, even the basic ones to keep yourself refreshed with the words and characters all the time.
