Core Japanese learning resources

So I feel like I'm going to be asking an infuriating newbie question here, but I feel like I need some guidance on what kind of resources are good to use, because the more I read online - much of it conflicting and everything - the more I feel like my brain will explode.

If I AM being an annoying newb I apologise, but my brain hurts from over-researching.

I raised my question and got several replies from internet. Finally I picked one free for me. It is YoiTV. I plan to watch Tokyo Olympic Games during this time with this tool. It is really a good timing for me to improve my Japanese.
