I've recently wanted to start watching sumo again, but I grew up watching it in Japan with their broadcast and commentary style. I'm now in the US and looking for a way to watch it with Japanese commentary. I've tried watching the NHK World "Grand Sumo" videos but it's not working out for me (the commentary and surrounding graphics, as well as the music, aren't to my taste). Any online rabbit hole I've explored also inevitably leads me back to NHK World. I can't stand it any longer. I'm just looking for a way to watch the matches for the upcoming Haru Basho with the Japanese commentary that is aired and used in Japan (preferably w/o subtitles). I've been studying duolingo lately and have been having fun with it. I was debating on buying a TV tuner from japan and importing it but part of me feels like that won't help me get japanese tv in the states. Was curious on how I could legally watch it here in the states? I don't mind paying for a subscription if its reasonably priced . Found YoiTV tonight while browsing on reddit. It's by far the best method for streaming Japanese TV that I have found in the 2 months or so I've been looking. Bad thing is that it looks to be 16:9 in many cases, but it's still way nicer than other streaming TV and others. The free app is also very clean looking. This has been something that I've had trouble with to no end. Is there a way/place to watch some live Japanese TV? And yes I know there's a ton of Youtube videos. No, I'm not going to move to japan.
